Thanks to the hard work of the ASSE Central Florida Chapter, the Polk County Board of County Commissioners officially proclaimed May 4-10, 2008 as North American Occupational Safety and Health Week and May 7, 2008 as Occupational Safety and Health Professional Day!

Welcome to the ASSE - Central Florida Chapter Website!
I would like to personally welcome to your Central Florida ASSE Chapter’s website! As Chapter President, I am tremendously encouraged with the progress this chapter has realized over the past two years under Kelly Bernish’s leadership. The monthly meetings have increased from six to eight members in attendance to well over forty. I invite you to be part of this exciting growth of the ASSE Central Florida Chapter!
Please check our monthly calendar for meetings and other events. Our meetings are held the first Monday of each month (unless Monday is a holiday) at the Dubsdread Country Club located at 549 W Par Street in Orlando. This location was chosen because it is a central location for our membership which includes Orange, Lake, Seminole, and Osceola Counties. Our monthly speakers are unrivaled, including high-ranking government officials as well as safety professionals from large corporations, hospitals, and colleges. We are currently developing our speaker list through September of 2008 and we are open to your input on who you would like to hear from at our meetings. At each meeting we also feature member spotlights to get to know our fellow members and see what other EH&S professional do on a day to day basis.
In my opinion, the networking is one of the most important aspects of our monthly meetings. The time before and after each meeting is invaluable and gives our members the unique opportunity to discuss various safety issues or concerns with their fellow members. Making these important connections is so important. The diversity of our member’s businesses and organizations brings so much to all those who attend. Please join us - catch up with old friends and make new ones in the safety profession.
